The Programme
Who this is for
Bone marrow aspiration looks simple and is not. Yield varies by an order of magnitude with technique, site and operator — which is the single largest uncontrolled variable in most published series.

Curriculum
Four modules
Taught in sequence. Each builds directly on the one before it.
- 01
Marrow biology & yield
What determines nucleated cell yield, why the first few millilitres matter most, and how site selection changes your result.
- 02
Aspiration technique
Supervised practice on models then in theatre. Needle selection, multi-site aspiration and avoiding peripheral blood dilution.
- 03
Concentration & characterisation
Density gradient and closed-system concentration, cell counting, viability and colony-forming assays.
- 04
Clinical delivery
Indication selection, image-guided delivery to bone and joint targets, and combined use with scaffolds.
On Completion
What you will be able to do
Assessed, not assumed. Each outcome is signed off before certification.
Characterise the concentrate before clinical use
Select and treat appropriate bone and joint indications
- 0+Clinicians trained
- 0Fold yield variation seen
Two clinicians, same patient, same kit, ten-fold difference in nucleated cell yield. That is not a detail. That is the whole result.
